04/13/05-PASS THE MIC! at AFI Music Doc Series
American Film Institute's Fourth Annual Music Documentary Series presented by Audi selected PASS THE MIC! as one of the six films chosen for its festival series. The screening took place at 8:00pm, April 13th, 2005 at the prestige's Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood, CA. The screening room was near compacity; about 200 people in attendance including media coverage from LA Weekly, Campus Circle, HoodTimes Magazine, Divine Forces Radio and Latin Heat Magazine. Q & A and a Reception followed.
04/26/06-PASS THE MIC! at University of Illinois
During Latino Film Month, the organization "La Casa Cultural Latina" for the University of Illinois screened Pass The Mic! for their University Students at 7:00pm on April 26th, 2006.

09/04/04-PASS THE MIC! at Vancouver Hip Hop Film Fest
PASS THE MIC! made its Vancouver Premiere on September 4th, 2004 at 7:00pm in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Film Curator Liz Vargas "Thank you very much for sending me your film. It was a compelling view into the world that is so often neglected by the society that it was born in. The raw feelings make this a film that is necessary to be shown at our film festival, since Canadian hip hop stands along the border of the industry-used but not acknowledged."
09/25/04-PASS THE MIC! at Southern California Library
The Southern California Library presents "Zoot Suit to Hip Hop," a series of film screenings and dialogues on the complex and vibrant youth culture of South Los Angeles. The series is part of the Library's community history project, "From Generation to Generation: Making a Life in South Los Angeles, 1940-2005." Pass The Mic! Screened September 25th, 2004.
07/18/04-PASS THE MIC! at Latin American Music Conference
The Critically Acclaimed "PASS THE MIC!", was specially invited to screen at The Latin American arts festival RITMO Y COLOR in Toronto Canada, on July 18 2004 at 1pm. "PASS THE MIC!" screened as part of the LATIN ALTERNATIVE MUSIC CONFERENCE. 11/12/03-PASS THE MIC! at Alucine Toronto Latino Film Fest
"Pass The Mic!" screened on Opening Night, November 12th, 2003 for the 5th annual Alucine, Toronto Latino Film and Video Festival at 9:00pm. "Pass The Mic!" received praise from the Alucine Press Release: "Don’t miss the screening of PASS THE MIC, the greatest documentary on the importance of Latino-a talent in the history of Hip Hop in the US."
10/14/03-PASS THE MIC! at George Washington University
We are proud to announce that "PASS THE MIC!" made another successful East Coast Screening, this time in the nation's capitol in Washington D.C at George Washington University on October 14th, 2003. The "Organization of Latino American Students" sponsored the event. We would like to thank Shani George for her contribution to the screening.
10/10/03-PASS THE MIC! at Vistas Film Fest
On October 10th, 2003, "Pass The Mic!" made its Texas Debut by screening as part of the 5th Annual Vistas Film Festival. Joined by a number of acclaimed Latino Films including our own film "Toci: A Mexica Tale", "Pass The Mic!" screened at the world famous Angelika Film Center, in the Pepsi Theater, in Dallas, Texas. A nice sized crowd made the day a success.
10/17/03-PASS THE MIC! at Casa Del Pueblo
October 17th, 2003 a special screening of the film "PASS THE MIC!" at Casa Del Pueblo in Echo Park, Ca was held at 7:00pm. In attendence were members of the Pass The Mic! producing team: JADE PUGA, CESAR AVALOS, and RICHARD MONTES. We would like to thank Fernando Escobar Jr. for his help in setting up the screening. Casa Del Pueblo is a non-profit community organization.
05/14/03-PASS THE MIC! at Tia Chucha's Cafe Cultural
"Pass The Mic!" screened on May 14th, 2003 at Tia Chucha's Cafe Cultural to make its glorious debut on the west coast. The film screened at 7:30 to a full house, and Director Richard Montes and Producer Jade Puga were on hand to take questions about the movie.
04/14/03-PASS THE MIC! finalist to be screened at SXSW
"Pass The Mic!" was a finalist to be screened at SXSW (South by Southwest) festival in 2003.
04/07/03-PASS THE MIC! at Cal State University, Long Beach
On April 07th, 2003, California State University, Long Beach screened "PASS THE MIC!" to over 300 film students on the campus' big screen. The screening was followed by a discussion between the Director RICHARD MONTES and Host GARY PEBULA about the filmmaking process. A Question and Answer with the Director and the students followed the discussion. Many of the topics discussed where the legalities of making a movie like "Pass The Mic!" and the home video distribution process. Also attending the screening were Pass The Mic! producers JADE PUGA and CHRIS SAN PAOLO
11/13/02-PASS THE MIC! at H20 International Film Fest
On November 13th, 2002, Pass The Mic!, making it's world premeire, was blessed with the opportunity to be a part of the inaugural H2O Hip-Hop Odyssey Film Festival, held at one of hip-hop’s birthplaces: the Bronx, New York. Even though Pass The Mic! features predominately West Coast Artists, the East Coast welcomed us into their home with open arms. The H2O Film Festival was a five-day event that celebrated all aspects of hip-hop. Pass The Mic! helped kick off the festival on opening day at 2pm Eastern Time. Safada Y Sano Productions would like to thank the organizers for the honor of screening Pass The Mic! at the festival.
